Effectiveness of a commercial insecticide (Deltamethrin) against laboratory and field population of German cockroaches from Bukittinggi, West Sumatera

This study examined the effectiveness and repellency value of commercial insecticide initial “KB” (Deltamethrin [0.6%]) to German cockroaches. The research was performed by contact toxicity repellent bioassay method using two populations; VCRU-WHO RMKN-BKT. criteria are based on knockdown time (KT) lethal (LT) that refers Directorate Fertilizers Pesticides Indonesia, 2004. Results demonstrated is effective in paralyzing cockroaches (KT90 = 11.09 min) but ineffective killing population (LT90 43.65 h). product also either or RMKN-BKT 43.6 min, LT90 71.46 low both populations resistant ratio (RR50) revealed has a resistance “KB”.
